“LONGER-TERM” RELATIONSHIPS
WITHOUT CONFIRMED, CLIENT INTEREST
About 10% of the time consultants are contacted by
recruiters who are interested in building “longer-term” relationships
WITHOUT CONFIRMED, CLIENT INTEREST.
There is some overhead involved in building these relationships. Specifically, long trips to recruiters’
offices. These trips are
time-consuming and, as we all know, time is money. More important is the suspense consultants must abide as a
result of the lack of client interest confirmation.
We could just throw out the idea of building longer-term
relationships without the requisite confirmation but, in one respect, that
doesn’t make sense. It is longer-term
relationships that make our work more personally rewarding, as well as more
financially profitable. Of course,
without confirmed, client interest there is a greater chance that we are just
wasting our time.
So what are we to do? Well, we’ve come up with a very simple practical solution. If we want to develop a longer-term
relationship without confirmed, client interest, the recruiter should provide
the consultant with transportation to and from the recruiter’s office. During the ride†, the two can
discuss business.
†Because of all the modern
commotion vis-à-vis discriminational matters, businessmen should only ride
with businessmen and businesswomen should only ride with businesswomen.
