American Political Intelligence in conjunction with Instant Survey(tm), Inc. has conducted a special “2004 Presidential Election Year NAPP Poll” (see the regular, ongoing The National Priorities Poll, which we are in the process of updating).  The 2004 Presidential Election Year NAPP Poll reveals that Americans are MOST concerned with the issues listed in the position analysis table.

This table reveals where President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry stand on the issues about which Americans are most concerned.  (There are 26 additional issues not listed but, unlike President Bush, we have been instructed that Senator Kerry takes no position on these other issues.)

In the interest of fairness, we accept any and all challenges to this position analysis table.  If any individual, group, or institution can find any flaw whatsoever in this table, it is your responsibility to let us know about it.  So far, we have addressed 136 challenges to this position analysis table without in any way having to change the results displayed.

Position Analysis Formula

This position analysis was performed using the Mandyne formula for analysis of political leadership issues.  In this case, the Mandyne 2.331.967 (subset xc.2.11.497) formula was utilized.  This formula takes up several pages but it belongs to the Standard Deviation and Arithmetic Mean formula families and is of the form:

where

S.D. = an f(S.D.) = Standard Deviation using a 10-axes referential frame

s = an f(s) = suspended series number in the issue matrix

i = point number in series s

m = number of suspended series for point y in the issue chart

n = number of points in each issue series

yis = data value of series s and the ith point

ny = total number of data values in all issue series

M = an f(M) = arithmetic mean interpolated over time
